A power outage occurred in some areas of Male' City’s Maafannu ward on Sunday evening, repeating the disruption reported on Saturday.
STELCO posted an update at 21:22 saying it was experiencing a technical problem and was working to identify and resolve the issue.
The company said the outage affected an area supplied by a single transformer.
In a second update at 22:29, STELCO said the outage was caused by a technical fault in a transformer located near Maafannu Madharusa.
Many Hiyaa towers in Hulhumale' Phase II also experienced power outages at around 14:00 on Saturday. These included Hiyaa towers, MPL towers and Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation towers. Power was restored four hours later.

STELCO said Saturday’s outage occurred after a power cable was damaged during road‑digging work.
Some Hiyaa towers and Vinares apartments in Hulhumale' Phase II also experienced outages on the 12th of this month.
In addition, on June 1 and August 9 last year, the entire Male' City and Hulhumale' were affected by major blackouts.
This is a growing concern for the area, which is home to 40 percent of the population. Repeated outages can also lead to damage to electrical equipment.
