President: Goal is to make police an institution that produces productive servicepeople

One of the biggest goals of the administration is to make the police institute a place that always produces productive servicepeople the country needs, says President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

He made the remark in a post on X on Sunday, on occasion of Police Day.

In his message, President Muizzu said the Police Day celebrates “the day of the blue army, working tirelessly day and night in service of this nation.”

He conveyed Police Day greetings to each and every individual who served as a police officer since the inception of the police institute, as well as their families.

President Muizzu said he wishes to see police officers continue to be capable and responsible individuals who ensure the safety and security of everyone in the country, local or foreign.

The police held flag-hoisting ceremonies at police establishments across the country in celebration f the 93rd anniversary of the police service.

The ceremony in Male’ also involved opening books of condolences for Deputy Commissioner of Police (Retired) Abdul Shukoor Abdulla, who served the state for over 43 years, and Counsel General Hassan Hameed, who served the state for over 35 years.

It was signed by Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusan, Deputy Commissioner of Police Farhad Fikry, and other high-ranking police officials.
