A man arrested for theft earlier this Ramadan has been taken into custody again on the very day he was released.
Adam Ishan of R. Rasgetheemu was first arrested on March 8 in connection with a theft case. Criminal Court records show he was produced before the court the following day and remanded for five days by Judge Safwath Habeeb on charges of theft, trespassing and damage to property.
He was released on Saturday after the remand period expired. However, he was arrested again the same day in connection with another theft case.
Adam was produced before the Criminal Court on Sunday, where Judge Ibrahim Zihni ordered him to be held in custody for 15 days. During the hearing, he also requested that his remand period be shortened.
