A diving boat moored near the Feydhoo harbour in Addu caught fire on Friday afternoon, leaving one person injured.
The Southern Regional Command Fire Station of the MNDF responded to the incident after receiving the report at 1:30 pm. Despite efforts to extinguish the flames, the vessel sank at around 3:30 pm.
According to authorities, those on board the diving boat were able to evacuate to a nearby safari vessel soon after the fire broke out.
One individual sustained burn injuries to the leg and was treated at the Feydhoo Health Centre.
