Fire guts seventh-floor apartment in Henveiru, Male' city

A fire broke out in an apartment on the seventh floor of a house in H. Fahivai, Male' City, on Saturday night.

The fire was reported at around 9:00 pm. MNDF Fire and Rescue Service responded to the scene, and the blaze was fully extinguished within half an hour.

MNDF did not disclose whether any residents were injured. However, Police said a police officer sustained injuries while responding to the incident and is being treated at ADK Hospital. The officer’s injuries are not serious, according to Police.

Photos from the scene show the apartment was severely damaged, with many belongings completely burned.
