The railings along the boardwalk at Bandaara Kilhi in Fuvahmulah City have been damaged by vandals, with sections of the structure thrown into the nearby wetlands.
A video shared by the Fuvahmulah City Council on Facebook on Monday shows the severity of the destruction to the walkway at Bandaara Kilhi. The footage reveals that multiple sections of the railings along the pedestrian pathway were intentionally pulled out and tossed into the marsh area.
The video further indicates that the damage extended beyond the walkway, as railings in the designated seating and shelter areas were also pulled out and discarded.
Fuvahmulah City Council has voiced serious concern regarding the recurring vandalism at Bandaara Kilhi.
The Council urged residents and visitors alike to act responsibly and avoid causing harm to the site.
Bandaara Kilhi is one of the most significant landmarks for both residents and tourists visiting Fuvahmulah.
