Laboratory services established in 11 more islands

The Health Ministry on Sunday announced the establishment of laboratory services in 11 more islands in the atolls.

In February 2024, the Health Ministry launched an initiative to establish lab services in 76 islands that lack such facilities.

The Ministry announced on Sunday that lab services had been established in 11 islands by Wednesday as part of the initiative.

The Health Ministry aims to establish labs in all 76 islands by the end of this year.

Ensuring people have access to basic lab facilities in their home islands is a key pledge of the incumbent government.
