Ooredoo Maldives has announced a major expansion of its 5G network, extending coverage to 80 percent of the country.
The company, which currently operates the largest 5G network in the Maldives, said the milestone reflects its commitment to strengthening digital connectivity and empowering communities across the islands.
Ooredoo said the expanded network will support high‑speed online gaming, HD streaming, remote work, online learning and content creation, offering customers faster and more reliable internet experiences.
According to the company, the rollout is designed to meet the growing demand for mobile data services from households, entrepreneurs, SMEs and larger enterprises.
Ooredoo described 5G as an essential technology for modern life, enabling customers to boost productivity and access new digital opportunities with ease.
The company said it will continue investing in next‑generation infrastructure as part of its vision to build a more inclusive and future‑ready “Digital Maldives.”
