The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that the draw for land allocated in the third phase of Hulhumale' will begin on Saturday.

According to the ministry, the draw will start at 9 am at Kalaafaanu School Hall. It will be conducted in the presence of land recipients, with only one representative from each household allowed to enter the hall. Participants must bring their ID card when attending.

The ministry said the chart of land plots allocated for the draw in Hulhumale’s third phase is now available on the Hiyaa portal.

Work on dredging the third phase has resumed, with 31.5 hectares out of a total of 63 hectares already completed. The dredging is expected to be finished within the next six months.

Under the Binveriyaa scheme, land was previously allocated from Hulhumale's second phase, Gulhifalhu and Giraavaru lagoon during the administration of former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced last month that dredging of Giraavaru lagoon and Hulhumale's third phase will be completed within the next three months.

Although land has been allocated from Gulhifalhu and Hulhumale's second phase, basic services such as water, electricity, sewerage and roads have not yet been established. As a result, construction has not begun on those plots.
