Two individuals aboard a dinghy that had been reported adrift near GDh. Madaveli was found sitting on top of the vessel which had overturned during a search.
Police received the report on the drifting dinghy at approximately 8:30am this morning.
In a message to the media, Police said they discovered the drifting dinghy three hours later, at approximately 11:04am. According to the Police, at the time, the dinghy had overturned and the two aboard were sitting on top of the overturned vessel.
They were identified as two Maldivian men, a 40-year-old and a 66-year-old.
Police added that both individuals were in good health.
Police also stated that the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) team, while searching for the dinghy, came across another adrift dinghy and assisted in bringing it back to Madaveli.
Notably, Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has forecasted bad weather across the Maldives for the next two days.
