The camp launched with staff of Sun Siyam Group's head office visiting the premises of Maldivian Blood Services (MBS) to meet the children who regularly received the entity's services.

The camp, encompassing all of Sun Siyam Group's properties will begin with Sun Siyam Olhuveli on Tuesday, while other resorts under the Sun Siyam Resorts portfolio will host their camps across upcoming June; with the camp scheduled for May 29 at Sun Siyam Iru Veli and for 8 June at Sun Siyam Iru Fushi.

The blood donation camp will be hosted at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef on June 19 and on June 26 the camp will move to Siyam World Maldives.

The last event of the camp is scheduled for June 28 at Sun Siyam Group's head office.

Speaking about the camp, Sun Siyam Group's Assistant Director of the Directors' Bureau, Fathimath Reena said over 400 of the group's employees donated blood every year furthering Sun Siyam Group's humanitarian cause. She further expressed confidence of more employees of the group taking part this year.

Reena also highlighted the strong reception from the group's resorts, and noted the preparations made by the properties ahead of their camp dates.

"We really look forward to the blood donation camp every year. This camp, that will begin on May 13 will run until June end," Reena commented.

MBS Deputy Direct General of Public Health, Ibrahim Ashraf while speaking to 'Sun' said the group's blood donation camp will help thalassaemia patients with getting transfusions.

Ashraf highlighted the camp facilitates receipt of over 400 points of blood each year through the camp, and expressed his confidence of the camp's success in 2025 as well.

Sun Siyam Group's Chairman Ahmed Siyam Mohamed is regarded as a prominent humanitarian who supports such causes, and is often seen at the forefront of leading such initiatives.

Sun Siyam Resorts conducts awareness programs targeting its staff to increase their knowledge about blood donation, which has led to a growing popularity for the donation camp every following year.

The group, with a successful history of 35 years in the hospitality industry has braved multiple challenges and is today regarded among the top hospitality brands in the country. The group operates five luxury-tier resorts in the Maldives which includes Siyam World, Iru Fushi, Vilu Reef, Iru Veli, and Olhuveli while it also operates a property in Sri Lanka, the Sun Siyam Pasikudah.

Sun Siyam Group's success is testament to its popularity among travelers globally, which is further proven as Siyam World was listed as the fourth most popular property in Asia's "Best of the Best Hotels" ranking of TripAdvisor's Travellers Choice Awards recently.

The same property is also ranked first in TripAdvisor's Travellers Choice Awards' Maldives-exclusive list.
