Pres: Maldives-Bangladesh relations underlined by mutual understanding

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu states the close and cordial relations between Maldives and Bangladesh are underlined by mutual understanding, commitment to regional peace and stability and people-to-people connections. 

He made the remark in letters addressed to Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser of the interim Government Dr. Mohamed Yunus on the occasion of the 54th Independence Day of Bangladesh.

In his message, the President conveyed greetings and good wishes of the government and people of the Maldives to Bangladeshi leaders, government, and its people on the occasion.

He highlighted the cordial relations between the Maldives and Bangladesh, which he cited was underlined by mutual understanding, commitment to regional peace and stability and people-to-people connections.

President Muizzu expressed confidence that the support and collaboration between the two countries across various sectors will continue to grow in the years ahead, bringing greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Bangladesh’s declaration of independence was on March 26, 1971.

The Maldivian head of state also posted on his official X account earlier today to commemorate Bangladesh’s Independence Day.
