Maldives promotes diverse experiences on offer at Fitur 2025 in Spain

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), alongside 25 industry partners, are showcasing the diverse experiences on offer in the Maldives at the tourism promotion board’s first major travel trade event of the year - Fitur 2025.

Fitur 2025 kicked off in the Spanish capital Madrid on Wednesday, and will continue through Sunday.

Fitur is a benchmark event in the tourism sector and a leading trade fair for inbound and outbound international markets.

This year’s event set new records with participation from 9,500 companies, 884 main exhibitors, and official delegations from 101 countries.

Altogether, 156 nations are showcasing their tourism offerings across nine expansive halls at IFEMA MADRID, making this event the largest global platform for the tourism industry.

Participation in the event is expected to boost Maldives’ brand presence in Spain and larger Europe, and help establish strong connections with the travel agents from leading markets in the region.

MMPRC said that it also provides numerous opportunities to showcase the unique experiences of the Maldives such as romantic getaways, wellness retreats, family vacations, adventure holidays, and summer and winter escapes.

According to MMPRC, Maldives' stand at Fitur 2025 reflects the aspects of sustainability, luxury, romance, adventure, and cultural tourism.

During the event, visitors can engage with the Maldivian travel trade partners, gaining the latest information about the Maldives.

Interactive activities take center stage at the stand, including local food tasting, photo backdrop featuring libaas and feyli props, and creation of personalized calligraphy bookmarks.

The overall stand portrays the diverse experiences of the Maldives through visuals and videos showcased on LED screens.

Moreover, raffle draws are being conducted at the Maldives' stand to give away complimentary holidays to the Maldives, sponsored by Ithaa Holidays Maldives.

Spain was one of the top 10 source markets for tourist arrivals to the Maldives last year, with a total of 47,835 visitors.

MMPRC said it is continuing efforts to promote the Maldives in the Spanish market, maintaining momentum from the preceding year.
