Azerjbaijan’s Deputy FM pays courtesy call on VP

Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Elnur Mammadov paid a courtesy call on Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef on Wednesday.

The meeting was held at the President’s Office on Wednesday morning.

Speaking during the meeting, VP Latheef underscored that the launch of direct flights from Maldives to Azerbaijan marks a significant milestone for promoting tourism and strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The Vice President and the Deputy Foreign Minister also discussed ways to further enhance relations between both nations and collaborate on areas of mutual interest, including climate change, culture, trade, and tourism.

Male’ and Baku established diplomatic relations on June 15, 2006.

Azerbaijan Airlines commenced direct flights between Male’ and Baku in November 2024.
