Vice President’s financial statement shows MVR 314,664 income over past six months

Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has earned more than MVR 300,000 over the past six months, according to his financial statement.

The asset declaration, released by the President’s Office on Monday, shows the Vice President received MVR 314,664.07 during the period.

According to the declaration, the Vice President currently has MVR 8,390 in his BML account. His BML dollar account, however, stands at minus USD 61.

In addition, his Islamic Bank rufiyaa account holds MVR 39, while his Islamic Bank dollar account contains USD 397.

It is noteworthy that the Vice President’s disclosure comes on the same day the President released his own financial statement.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu declared an income of more than MVR 300,000 over the past six months and listed MVR 1.3 million in outstanding loans to the Maldives Finance and Leasing Company.

This is the first time the President and Vice President have publicly disclosed their financial statements since taking office.
