Housing Ministry states a new draw will be held among the recipients of land from Gulhifalhu under the former administration’s ‘Binveriya’ housing scheme, this time including recipients of Giraavarufalhu who switched plots to Gulhifalhu.
The Ministry, via an announcement on Friday, said there have been changes to the location of the plots awarded to the recipients under the amended ‘Gulhifalhu Land Use Plan’ published on October 15th.
Henceforth, the Ministry said they will be holding a new draw among the recipients of the plots including those who have already been handed over land from Gulhifalhu and individuals who successfully switched their plots from Giraavarufalhu to Gulhifalhu via a draw. The draw has been slated for Tuesday.
The Ministry shared the details of the number of plots being issued and their sizes.
As per the Ministry, the draw will be taken in the order of the lists of recipients of land from Gulhifalhu formulated by the Ministry.
In this regard, the lists which categorize the land plots by measurements have been publicized on the government gazette.
Tuesday’s draw will be held at Dharubaaruge’s Rannabandeyri Maalam starting from 9:00am.
Housing Ministry has requested individuals going to take the draw on behalf of a recipient to present a no-objection letter from the recipient and their ID card copy.
Information regarding the plot registry and the agreement will be shared in due course following the draw, added the Ministry.
Former administration of Ibrahim Mohamed Solih decided to issue 9,003 plots to 18,955 eligible recipients from the first round of the ‘Binveriya’ Scheme. The plots were designated from Hulhumale', Gulhifalhu, and Giraavarufalhu.
