Teachers’ Conference begins with 250 participants

The 7th International Teachers’ Conference began on Tuesday with the participation of over 200 educators, policymakers, and stakeholders nationwide.

The opening of the two-day conference, being held at the Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), was attended by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed and Education Minister Dr. Ismail Shafeeu.

Teachers’ Conference is held by the National Institute of Education (NIE) every two years. This year’s conference is themed "Educate, Empower, Elevate: Equitable Education for 21st Century Education Excellence.”

The Education Ministry said that the conference is being attended by 250 participants. It will see the presentation of 60 research papers, four case studies, as well as two keynote speeches and two panel discussions.

The Education Ministry said that the biggest purpose of the conference is to address the challenges facing educators and come up with solutions. Another key aim of the conference is to promote academic tourism in the Maldives.

The NIE has been holding this conference since 2012. The last edition of the conference was held in 2022.
