Mohamed Daud, the head of the Hulhumale’ Police Station, has been promoted from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police.

The promotion was handed over by Homeland Security Minister Ali Ihusan on Tuesday, in a ceremony attended by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau and other top police officials.

Daud had previously served as the head of Road Police, the deputy head of the Drug Enforcement Department (DED) and as a detective investigation officer.

ACP is the highest rank for administrative promotions, and the third highest rank within the police force overall. Appointments to the two highest ranks – Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police – are made by the President.
