Man fined MVR 750 for carrying surfboard on Sinamale’ Bridge

A person who carried a surfboard on the motorcycle on the Sinamale’ Bridge has been fined MVR 750 for the traffic violation.

In a post on X on Tuesday, the chief police spokesperson, Assistance Commissioner of Police Ahmed Shifan said that an individual was penalized for crossing the Hulhumale’ Highway and the Sinamale’ Bridge on a motorcycle while carrying a surfboard.

He also urged people to refrain from such practices that endanger the safety of themselves and others.

The remarks come after a video emerged on social media earlier this week showing a man on the back of a motorcycle holding a surfboard with his hands.

A police spokesperson told Sun that he was fined by MVR 750 for the violation.
