Authorities find missing 'Akiris' boat with idle engine

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) on Friday reported finding the missing 'Akiris' cargo vessel.

MNDF said the vessel's engine had died down when the authority located it.

The boat was travelling from Laamu atoll Gan on Thursday dawn en route to Male'. The vessel was reported missing around 19:10hrs on Thursday evening.

Authorities located the vessel 22 miles outside of Meemu atoll Raiymandhoo on Friday morning, MNDF confirmed.

All 14 travelling on board were found in good condition.
