Voting in MDP’s National Council by-election underway

Voting in the main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) National Council by-election has commenced.

Voting in the by-election to elect members for vacant posts at 21 constituencies commenced at 14:30pm on Friday.

Voting is set to conclude at 21:00pm on Friday night.

While voting is underway at 24 islands in the atolls, voting in Male’ area will proceed at Hiriyaa School and Thaajudheen School.

Although the voting in Male’ area was initially planned to proceed at Iskandar school and Aminiyya School, the location was switched as the schools were booked for Friday evening’s MNDF parade.
