Two arrested after serial fights in Maafushi

Two people have been arrested in connection to two fights which took place in K. Maafushi on Saturday – both of which the police believe to be linked.

The first fight, which was reported at around 05:30 am, left a 34-year-old Maldivian male injured.

He was initially treated at the Maafushi Hospital, before getting transferred to the Tree Top Hospital in Hulhumale’.

A police spokesperson said that officers arrested two local males in connection to a second fight which broke out in Maafushi.

 Preliminary investigative findings establish that the two suspects had been involved in the earlier fight as well, said the spokesperson.

The case is under investigation by the police.
