President's Office.

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has declared that government offices will be closed each year, in the last 10 days of Ramdan, starting from the 20th day of the holy month.

The President’s Office said the decision is in line with President Muizzu’s commitment to promoting Islamic values, encouraging active participation in religious practices, and enabling citizens to priorities religious observances during the holy month.

In a directive issued on Sunday, the President’s Office instructed government authorities to ensure the provision of essential services to the public, and disseminate specific information regarding operating hours during the period.

The President’s Office also met with the relevant authorities to discuss the logistics for delivering essential services during the final ten days of Ramadan, and urged the authorities to employ various avenues to inform the public about the adjustments.

Ramadan will commence on March 11 this year.
