36 candidates secure MDP ticket for Majlis election

Total 36 candidates have secured tickets from the main opposition MDP for the upcoming parliamentary elections, without needing to contest the primaries.

The 36 candidates secured the tickets as they had been the sole contestants for the respective constituencies.

They are:

  • Ahmed Saleem, Hoarafushi constituency
  • Mohamed Arif, Ihavandhoo constituency
  • Mohamed Raee, Makunudhoo constituency
  • Ali Riza, Milandhoo constituency
  • Mohamed Shahid, Funadhoo constituency

MDP had previously stated that it would hold its primaries on January 26 and January 27.
