Changes made to the composition of the boards of some state-owned companies

New appointees of board of directors of state-owned companies.

Changes have been made to the composition of the board of directors of some state-owned companies on Thursday.

In an announcement on Friday, the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) said changes have been made to the composition of the board of directors of Urbanco, STELCO, STO and Aasandha.

In this regard, the board of directors of Urbanco, comprised of eight members previously, has been dissolved, following which a new six-member board of directors has been appointed. 

The six appointees are as follows;

  • Arif Abdul Samad – Dhafthar No. RS9241
  • Mohamed Visham – V. Vasmeerufiya
  • Ula Mohamed Rasheed – G. Askari
  • Ibrahim Yousuf Fulhu – Athireege, N. Velidhoo
  • Azhar Abdulla Saeed – Seenaz, GDh. Madaveli
  • Mohamed Waheed – Mabusthan, HA. FIlladhoo

Other changes include the dismissal of Hamid Nasheed from the post of STO’s chairperson and the appointment of Amir Mansoor, Ma. Manas, to the post. Mohamed Murad has been appointed a member of the board as well, for a seat that had been vacant.

Faisal Ibrahim, Malamathi, GDh. Fiyoari has been appointed a member of Aasandha’s board of directors, for a seat that had been vacant.

 

The new administration, after taking office, has been making new appointments of senior posts in the state-owned companies.
