Sri Lankan man drowns in Maafaru

A young man from Sri Lanka has died in a drowning accident in N. Maafaru.

The police identified the deceased as a 35-year-old Sri Lankan male.

According to the police, the man had worked as a member of the crew of a landing craft. He drowned on Saturday morning, while attempting to untangle a rope.

The doctors confirm he was already deceased when taken to the Maafaru Health Center, said the police.
