Three arrested following violent altercation near Cibo

Three people have been arrested by the police for suspected involvement in a violent altercation near Cibo restaurant in Henveiru.

Police said the incident was reported to the authority at approximately 5:03pm Wednesday evening. They detailed having received no reports of any injuries following the altercation.

The three suspects who were arrested were identified as an 18-year-old, a 22-year-old and a 24-year-old.

Videos circulating on social media show the location bustling with members of the public and the police following the incident. The incident took place during high traffic time.

The video also shows a speeding motorcycle veering out of control and crashing into another motorcycle.

One of the men on the motorbike is seen abandoning the motorbike after the crash and running away. He is chased by a group of men who proceed to beat him up. Another man who was on the motorbike is seen being apprehended by the police.

Presumably, both men on the motorbike were likely trying to flee from the group of men who were chasing them. 

The case is under further investigation, said the police.

Just a day earlier on Tuesday, a police officer was injured while arresting a man suspected of being possession of drugs.
