Commissioner General of Customs Abdulla Shareef retires

Commissioner General of Customs Abdulla Shareef retired on Monday, after 28 years of service at Maldives Customs Service.

Customs announced Shareef’s retirement in a post on X on Monday afternoon.

The service acknowledged his contributions to Customs, especially during the last three years as the head of Customs.

“As CG since 2020, he led our focus on automating procedures, fortifying border security, and championing integrity at MCS. Wishing him a fulfilling retirement!" reads the post.

Shareef was appointed as the Commissioner General of Customs on June 23, 2020, prior to which he served as the Deputy Commissioner. He had served as Acting Commissioner General since April 2020, following the death of the late Commissioner of Customs Ahmed Numan.
