Siyam urges everyone to fulfil the obligations of Islam

Dh. Meedhoo MP and MDA leader Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has advised all Maldivians, as Muslims, to fulfill the obligations of Islam.

Sending congratulations for the day the Maldives accepted Islam, Siyam said that since the day the Maldives converted to Islam, ancestors of Maldiviabs have observed the obligations of religion and upheld the slogans of religion.

He said the memory of the sacrifices of our ancestors should be revived.

“Since Maldives became an Islamic country, our ancestors have sacrificed their lives and property to uphold and maintain the noble slogans of this religion. I urge us always to keep this in mind,” Siyam said.

He said the guidance of Islam is the most complete and precious blessing given to the people of Maldives. Therefore, Siyam noted it is important to remember all those who have been instrumental in bringing this blessing to us.

"Therefore, I pray for the blessings of Paradise on the souls of Abul Barakat Yusuf al-Barbari of  Maghreb and the then King of Maldives, Sultan Muhamad bun Abdullah Siri Bhawanadittha Maharadhun,” he said in his statement.

He said Islam is the most important pillar of the nationality of the people. This is the root of the freedom and unity that the people have today and Islam has brought happiness to the people, he said.

Siyam then condemned in the strongest terms the inhuman atrocities committed by Israeli Jews against the Palestinian people that is happening today.

He also called on the international community, all institutions and all Islamic countries to guarantee the rights of the Palestinian people and establish Palestine as an independent state as soon as possible.
