China National Electric Engineering Company (CNEEC), a state-run engineering company, has been contracted to develop tertiary hospitals in two islands; HDh. Kulhudhuffushi and GDh. Thinadhoo.
The agreements were signed between the Health Ministry and CNEEC on Tuesday.
Under the project, CNEEC will build 100-bed tertiary hospitals in Kulhudhuffushi and Thinadhoo.
The value of the projects is total USD 76 million.
The projects are being financed with a loan from the Kuwait Fund.
CNEEC is required to complete the projects in 30 months.
Building tertiary hospitals in five regions of the country, including Kulhudhuffushi and Thinadhoo, is one of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s electoral pledges.
