Business Center Corporation (BCC) has re-opened applications for small businesses interested in running kiosks on the second floor of the SME Hub opened at the STO Allied Building.

Applications are open for businesses in three categories. The categories are:

  • Clothing
  • Art and craft
  • Accessories

BCC’s head of outreach, Ibrahim Ziyau Mohamed told Sun in an earlier interview that only locally-made products can be sold from the kiosks – meaning at least 30 percent of the production cost must be borne in Maldives.

Once done, the second floor of the SME Hub will have a mini cinema, salon, art gallery, gaming area, and STEM education area.

The eligibility criteria for lease of kiosks:

  • Maldivian citizenship
  • Aged 18 years and above
  • Micro or small business as ranked under Small and Medium Enterprises Act
  • Lack of lease of a kiosk from the first floor of SME Hub

Interested parties have been asked to submit applications by 04:00 pm on July 6.

The SME Hub, located at the STO Allied Building in Chaandhanee Magu, Male’, was opened by BCC on December 15, 2022, to promote micro, small and medium enterprises.
