HDC rebrands itself as Urbanco

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has rebranded itself, changing its name to Urbanco.

The company’s new name and logo was unveiled in a ceremony held Saturday night to celebrate 22 years to the company, which originated from a unit within the President’s Office in 2001 tasked with solving the housing crisis in Male’.

Urbanco said it is headed towards redefining and building a world of better tomorrows for the people of Maldives.

“As the leading urban development corporation in Maldives, we are crafting the whole nation, inspiring, and taking our knowledge across the islands of the country, completely transforming the Maldives economy,” said the company.

Urbanco said its goal is to collaborate with local councils across Maldives to identify the developmental needs of local communities in line with the government’s vision, and utilize the company’s experience and success to expand the company to engage in work that is beneficial to the people.

The company said it will no longer focus solely on Hulhumale’, but beyond.

Urbanco also launched a mobile app Saturday.
