Housing Development Corporation (HDC), in partnership with the Youth Ministry, has opened applications for its annual Apprenticeship Program, an initiative designed to equip young people with practical skills and support their entry into the workforce.
According to HDC, the program aims to cultivate a generation of skilled and capable youth while facilitating their transition into professional careers. The program is open to Maldivian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35.
Interested applicants may now submit their applications through the Corporation’s online portal, with the deadline set for June 30th.
HDC stated that this year’s program will focus on three specialised technical disciplines: health and safety in construction, computer hardware and networking, and surveying technician. Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded a National Level 3 Certificate in their respective field of study.
The six-month apprenticeship is scheduled to begin in August. HDC also confirmed that participants will receive a monthly allowance of MVR 6,000 for the duration of the program.
The Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to developing skilled professionals across a range of sectors and continuing to create opportunities that enable young people to thrive and become valuable contributors to the modern workforce.
