Police have re-interrogated the girlfriend of a young man who was found dead in Hulhumale’ last year, two weeks after he went missing.

Mohamed Azhan, 27, H. Bondikandholhuge, K. Male’, was last seen alive at approximately 06:00 am on September 18, 2022. He was reported missing to the police on September 19, 2022.

His body was found in a heavily decomposed state in the thick vegetation in front of the Water Theme Park in Hulhumale’ Phase I on October 2, 2022.

Azhan had been staying in a guesthouse in Hulhumale’ with his girlfriend, Liusha Ali, 29, before he went missing.

Sun has been informed through credible sources that Liusha was summoned to the police headquarters for questioning in the case at 09:30 am Tuesday.

She had previously also been questioned by police in the case.

The police had Azhan’s body flown overseas for an autopsy. However, they have yet to receive results of the autopsy.

Police said last year that there wasn’t any evidence of foul play in the case.

Liusha told Sun last year that Azhan had been diagnosed with schizophrenia and had been off his meds when he disappeared.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental disorder in which people interpret reality abnormally. Schizophrenia may result in some combination of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behavior that impairs daily functioning, and can be disabling. People with schizophrenia require lifelong treatment.

People often have episodes of schizophrenia, during which their symptoms are particularly severe, followed by periods where they experience few or no symptoms.

Liusha said that bouts of anger Azhan suffered from during episodes had resulted in interventions from the police and Gender Ministry.
