President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih stated that Maldivian citizens have been assured today that the development projects they desire are well underway and will keep moving forward.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the newly built FENAKA building at Th. Hirilandhoo on Thursday, President Solih attributed the warm reception he received from the residents of the island to the fact that the dreams they have of the development of Hirilandhoo are being made true.

He further said that the country can only develop with the simultaneous development of its people, which will, in turn, happen once the most basic services are perfected.

President Solih stressed that the current administration planned to do things in a unique way while previous administrations were just immersed in preparing for the presidential election every five years.

In this regard, he said that this government's policy is to ensure the provision of basic services to the people without discrimination of any island, no matter big or small.

President Solih also spoke on the roles of some members of parliament and heads of government companies in the implementation of government policies.

“The work we are doing across the Maldives is done under the view of a long-term plan, where the services will be provided to the public without many changes over the next 40, 50 years. Our aim is to provide services to the public in the way they want. This government will remain in doing so, God willing,” President Solih said.

He thanked the Managing Director of FENAKA, Ahmed Saeed, for their cooperation in many projects in this trajectory.

He further said that the dejected look the people of Hirilandhoo used to have has changed drastically in recent years. He also thanked the people for the warm welcome he received.

He toured the new FENAKA office building after the inauguration.
