The remand of a youth who was arrested for threatening to kill a police officer has been extended.
A Police Spokesperson said that a 30-year-old youth was arrested from Male’ City after threatening to kill a police officer.
The youth was presented before Criminal Court on Wednesday, and remanded in police custody for 15 days.
Prosecutor General has the authority to charge suspects arrested for issuing death threats under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
Similar cases of death threats against police officers have been observed in Male’ City this year.
In September, a man was arrested after storming Maafannu Police Station and threatening to kill one of the officers.
