Transport Ministry, on Thursday, has stated that driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license will be facilitated in Male’ City once space is allocated for the purpose.

Driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license was previously held in the Industrial Zone of Male’ City – which was shifted to Hulhumale’ this January due to ongoing construction works of Thilamale’ Bridge in the area.

At present – driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license is carried out in the empty land plot next to the port in Fithuroanugas Magu at Hulhumale’.

Many continue to complain over the shift in location, citing difficulties in traveling to Hulhumale’ for driving practice.

Speaking regarding the matter, Deputy Transport Minister Hamadh Abdul Ghanee told Sun on Wednesday that the Ministry have received many complaints over having to travel to Hulhumale’ for driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license.

Hamadh said that the location of the driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license was shifted to Hulhumale’ – as the previously used Industrial Zone was not adequately safe.

“The previous practice location was not that safe. That is why it was shifted to Hulhumale’, Practices can be held there, if a test is not ongoing. But I understand how difficult it must be,” he had said.

Speaking further, Hamadh stated that driving practice and examination to obtain vehicular driving license will be facilitated in both Male’ City and Hulhumale’ Phase II in the upcoming days. He said the obstruction is space constraints – which once solved, will see the establishment of these facilities.
