Dhaandhoo Chief Magistrate resigns after parliamentary motion initiated to dismiss him

GA. Dhaandhoo Chief Magistrate Luayyu Ibrahim has resigned on Wednesday, a day after Judicial Service Commission (JSC) submitted a motion to the parliament regarding his dismissal after they found him guilty of misconduct with respect to two cases.

In a statement on Monday, JSC said that two out of the 22 disciplinary cases filed against Luayyu that were proven were the alleged sexual harassment of a staff working in Dhaandhoo Court and participating in a personal business during both working hours and non-working hours.

They noted that it was also proven that Lauayyu attempted to influence the witnesses involved in these cases.

Therewith, JSC, said that they have submitted a motion to the parliament to dismiss him.

In a new statement on Wednesday, JSC said that Luayyu has resigned after the motion was filed.
