Criminal Court, on Tuesday, cancelled all online hearings scheduled for the morning, over damage to server room due to water leakage following heavy rain.

In a statement earlier in the morning, Criminal Court noted water leakage in the building following heavy rain. They added that the court’s server room had also been impacted by water leakage.

The server room’s electricity cables and network cables being damaged a result of the water leakage was cited by the Criminal Court as a reason to cancel all online hearings scheduled for Tuesday morning.

However, the court noted that physical hearings will proceed as scheduled.

In early September, a hearing scheduled in the money laundering and bribery case against former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom in connection to the sale of V. Aarah for resort development was cancelled by the Criminal Court over water leakage in the court room following heavy rain.

The court, announcing the decision to cancel the hearing, said there was no way the hearing could proceed due to water leakage.

Complaints regarding water leakage through cracks in the four-story building the Criminal Court is situated had previously surfaced as well.
