Bank of Maldives (BML) has announced the recipients of its housing grant for vulnerable families launched earlier this year, as part of monthly initiatives to celebrate its upcoming 40th anniversary.
Through the housing grant, the bank is funding the construction and furnishing of houses for three vulnerable families across the country.
Local Councils and NGOs were invited to nominate families in need of safe housing.
BML announced on Monday that it has selected three recipients of the grant, through a comprehensive evaluation process.
The recipients are:
Commenting on the housing grant, Aishath Noordeen, BML’s In-Charge and Acting MD, said supporting communities with initiatives such as the housing grant, was a main focus of the bank’s CSR strategy.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to support the most vulnerable members in our society and I’m confident our financial support to these housing projects will help generate significant positive and enduring impact for these families for years to come,” he said.
