One of the people injured in the collision between a car and bus in Male’ City on Monday shows signs of improvement and has been moved to the ward, according to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
IGMH spokesperson told Sun on Saturday morning that one of the four accident victims admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit has been moved to the ward.
“There were previously four people in the ICU. One of them has been transferred to the ward. The patient’s condition is improving,” said the spokesperson.
The other three accident victims remain in the ICU.
IGMH had previously stated that three of the four patients in the ICU were on ventilators. It is unclear whether any of them have been taken off the ventilator.
The accident on Monday evening injured six people; four people in the car and two people in the bus. One of the people in the car, Mariyam Amaany Rasheed, 23, Bilehmaage, GA. Maamendhoo, died shortly after she was taken to the hospital.
CCTV footage of the accident shows the red sports car racing along the ring road slick with rain, when it suddenly spun out of control and hit another car before crashing into a MTCC bus.
