Young man injured after crashing into motorbike parked on side of Sinamale’ Bridge amid heavy rain

A young man was rushed to the hospital with injuries on early Thursday, after he crashed into a motorcycle parked on the side of the Sinamale’ Bridge amid heavy rain.

The accident, which involved the collision of two motorcycles, took place at around 02:21 am.

According to the police, the accident took place when a motorcycle crashed from behind into a second motorcycle that was parked on the side of the bridge because heavy rain made driving difficult.

The 30-year-old man driving the motorcycle sustained injuries in the accident and was taken to the Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).

The police, quoting hospital officials, said the man sustained injuries to his shins.

IGMH’s spokesperson was not immediately available for comment regarding details of his condition.

The accident is under investigation by the police.
