As part of Maldives COVID-19 Emergency Income Support Project (MCEISP) – Economic Ministry has executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) under which the latter would provide apprenticeship opportunities for individuals focused on a list of areas proposed by the Ministry.
The agreement between the two parties was executed at a special ceremony held at the Economic Ministry on Thursday.
Economic Ministry’s State Minister Neeza Imadh and MTCC’s Chief Executive Office Adam Azim signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
MTCC detailed that the purpose of the agreement is for the company to facilitate apprenticeship opportunities for individuals under MCEISP – which will be focused on a list of areas proposed by the Economic Ministry.
“MTCC will be facilitating the opportunity based on the type of work undertaken by the company, in line with its policy to prioritize locals for technical jobs – and based on eligibility for the program,” they added.
The company noted that a review report comprising details regarding the attendance and performance of participants will be sent to Economic Ministry every month.
This agreement will be valid until the end of this year. Participants will be awarded certificates following the successful completion of the program.
