Two soldiers undergoing training in Maafilaafushi hospitalized; one in ICU

Two young men who had been undergoing training at the military base in Lh. Maafilaafushi have been transported to Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in Male’ City for emergency medical treatment.

A spokesperson from IGMH told Sun the two men were hospitalized on Friday night.

One of the men is being treated at the Intensive Care Unit, confirmed the spokesperson.

The hospitalizations come mere days after a 19-year-old soldier collapsed while undergoing training in Maafilafushi, and died, shortly after he was taken to a hospital in neighboring Lh. Naifaru.
