MTCC opens opportunity for women to train as bus drivers

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has opened the opportunity for women to train as bus drivers.

In an announcement made by the company, they said that they seeking to train 20 female bus drivers under its ‘Hunavaru Program’.

As per the announcement, the training program will be three months long. Participants will receive an allowance of MVR 5,000 per month, and will be granted 10 days of occupational sick leave.

Training will be held six days a week, for eight hours per day.

Those applying for the program must hold an A1/A0 category license.

Apart from this, applicants must be a Maldivian national who is above the age of 18. They must also be interested in the work, must be in good health and must not have a criminal record.

The company also revealed that they are seeking to train additional 20 bus drivers, without preference for gender. Applicants applying for these 20 posts must hold a B1 category license.

MTCC has instructed those interested in applying for the posts to submit their applications through their online job portal before 12:00am on March 22.
