An agreement has been signed between Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Raajje Online (ROL) for the provision of internet service through HDC’s open access network.

At a ceremony held today, the agreement was signed by HDC’s Managing Director Suhail Ahmed and ROL’s Managing Director Abdul Mueedh.

HDC said that with this agreement, individuals living in Hulhumale’ Phase II will be able to attain internet services from all service providers in the Maldives.

HDC’s open access network is formulated in a manner that many companies will be able to provide their services to customers through the same view. At present, many companies are providing services such as internet and cable television through this view.

The company said that the open access networks creates quick service provisioning, low operational costs from multiple service providers sharing the same infrastructure and better maintenance as it eliminates the need for excavating and trenching roads which disturbs the public.
