Death of IGMH nurse: Remand extended for husband's lover

Marvin, the husband of IGMH Nurse Mary Grace who died under suspicious circumstances captured next to his lover, a Maldivian nurse working at IGMH, Haleemath Lamha.

Maldives Police Service revealed that the remand period for local nurse Haleemath Lamha, who was implicated in the murder of Mary Grace, a Flipino nurse at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), has been extended by 15 days. 

Haleemath, who is the lover of Marvin, the husband of Mary Grace was arrested on November 15. At the time, the Criminal court remanded her for 15 days and has now extended that period. 

Marvin who is also from the Philippines was arrested in connection to the death of Mary Grace on October 27. 

Police have requested Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) to press charges against both Marvin and Haleemth, for the death of the nurse. 

Initially, her body was taken to the hospital by the husband not too long after she went home for break time whilst on duty. 

A credible source revealed that Marvin initially claimed that Mary Grace committer suicide by hanging herself, however, he later changed the story and said that his wife suddenly collapsed. 

Due to the suspicious nature of her death, Police opened an investigation into the case. 

Autopsy reports revealed that Mary Grace died due to blunt injuries.  

As per information received from a credible source – some co-workers were aware of the affair between Marvin and Lamha. Altercations have reportedly occurred between Mary and Lamha over the affair, prior to Mary’s death.

It is said that Marvin and Lamha were very open about their affair.

In an interview given to Sun prior to this, Lamha confirmed the affair between her and Marvin – adding that both of them ended the affair, a day prior to Mary’s death. However, she said that following Mary’s death, they decided to resume their romantic relationship.
