COVID-19: Nepali national passes away in L. Atoll facility, 113th death in Maldives

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the 113th death related to COVID-19 in the Maldives. 

The agency said in a tweet that a male Nepali national aged 36, admitted at the COVID-19 treatment facility in L. Atoll had passed away earlier today. According to the HPA, the individual passed away at 2:00 in the morning. 

This the first death related to the virus in the Maldives so far today. As of recently, the Maldives has experienced multiple deaths related to the virus on a daily basis, as the number of cases in the country also increased. 

The Maldives currently has 18,843 active cases with 274 people hospitalized due to the virus. The total number of confirmed cases in the nation is at 48,608, according to the most recent statistics.
