Domestic violence complaint against MP Easa lodged with Police

Police have received a complaint regarding alleged domestic violence and abuse by MP for Kendhikulhudhoo Ahmed Easa. 

The complaint was lodged with the Police last night. Sources have confirmed to Sun that MP Easa's wife Asra Naseem received treatment at IGMH from injuries sustained during the violent episode. 

Asra is the younger sister of Vice President Faisal Naseem. Sources have said that MP Easa reportedly hit Asra in their home after an argument between the couple.

Neighbors and bystanders on the road also saw Asra coming out of the house in tears. Some local media even reported that neighbors told them that Asra had had visible injuries when she came out of the house. 

Asra has alleged that Easa hit her while MP Easa has denied the allegation.

Police media officials confirmed that a domestic violence complaint was lodged with the authority last night and that the case was under investigation. Police did not however, disclose the identities of those involved.
