Army captures Sri Lankan fishing vessel in Maldivian waters

Maldivian military has announced the capture of a Sri Lankan fishing boat trespassing into Maldivian territorial waters. 

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) stated that the boat was captured five miles away from Gan. Addu City. The boat had a total of five crew members, according to the army. 

MNDF also added that all crew members are Sri Lankan nationals. MNDF was tipped off to the boat by a local fishing vessel from S. Maradhoo named "Ras Kuri" around 14:27. 

Coastguard's "FIC Kaamiyaabu" was deployed to the area after the report.

The army also added that authorities were looking into the matter of trespass by the Sri Lankan vessel.
